Your life is not lying in wait in the future like a wild animal or some ominous destiny. Nor is it hidden in the heavens, like a paradise or promise. Nor is it shut up in the cave or the prison of your past. It is here and now; it is what you live and what you do. At the heart of being; at the heart of the present; at the heart of everything – in the great current of life, of reality.

~More Wildwood Property~

We've purchased another lot in Wildwood! We hadn't planned on buying anymore property in Wildwood but the lot right next to us went up for sale. We were worried that someone would buy it and build a house. We don't want a house right next to us! So, we decided to buy it! I'll post a picture of the extra lot soon. On the other side of our cabin is a ravine so we won't have to worry about someone building over there so that's a relief!

~Brrr, it's Cold~

Okay, it's beyond cold! My dogs are refusing to go outside because their little paws freeze up so they have been peeing all over the house!

Dave went to Wildwood this weekend w/ my dad and my uncle, Bob, to work on the cabin but the power was out when they arrived! Needless to say, they weren't able to get much done. The power was still out today so Dave came home in the morning - he's really bummed that he couldn't get more done on the cabin.

On the bright side, the girls are very excited to have Dave home on a weekend day! We are all cuddled up together watching movies and staying warm.

~Mama Mia~

Have you seen the Mama Mia movie?? My parents went to see it when it came out and they loved it so they took my sister and I and we loved it, too. I knew the girls would really enjoy it so my parents took them to see it and, of course, they loved it. My sister took my nephews to see it and they enjoyed it, too. It's a really fun movie!

It came out on dvd Tuesday so we ran out to buy it and the girls have been watching it non-stop! Every time we leave the house they take it with us to watch in the car! Tonight we watched it with Dave and he really liked it, too.

My dad's birthday is this weekend so we bought the movie for him - I know he'll be excited to have it!

~Halloween Pics~

Homeschool Group

Grandma as Grandpa

Nic, Bren, Aub & Luc

I forgot to post pictures of the kids from Halloween. Our homeschool group had a really fun Halloween party and the kids had so much fun. And then on Halloween night Nic and Luc came over to trick or treat w/ us.

My mom stopped by and surprised the girls - she was dressed up as my dad when he's riding his Harley! She looked hilarious and the girls loved it.

~Xmas Tree Run 2008~

We made it to the Christmas tree farm this weekend and we found a great tree. The kids had fun looking at the animals on the farm and then taking a wagon ride out to the trees. After we found a tree we headed inside the shop for hot chocolate and popcorn! Enjoy the pics!

~Thanksgiving Tradtion~

I love our long Thanksgiving weekends - we do the same thing every year and I always look forward to it. This year we had Thanksgiving at our house - it was just us, my parents, Nikki and Dan. The boys were w/ their dad so we were missing them but we still had a good time.

The best part of getting together w/ my family is game time!! Once we stuff ourselves w/ as much food as we can we break out the boardgames! We play for hours and laugh our butts off! We are always on the hunt for new games and this year we tried "Would you rather...?" - unfortunately, not so great. BORING! So, we pulled out "The Newlywed" game - you can't go wrong w/ that game. It was great to watch my sister's boyfriend, Dan, get nervous every time he had to answer a question that had anything to do w/ "making whoopee"! Too funny! We are all heading to Arkansas right after X-mas so I'm hoping to find a new game to take w/ us.

So, back to our Thanksgiving tradition! The Friday after Thanksgiving is the Guys/Girls shopping days - the guys go out together and the girls do the same. For as long as I can remember my dad and his brothers (and my grandpa when he was still alive) have gone shopping the day after Thanksgiving - well, mostly they eat and people watch! Once Dave joined the family he started going and Dan went for the first time this year! They always have a great time.

The girls and I spent the day shopping w/ my mom and sister and then Friday night Nikki and I took Nic, Luc, Brenna and Aubree to a Thanksgiving Day (night) parade. They had a lot of fun catching the candy - it's all about the candy!! And there was an awesome fireworks show, too!

Normally, the Saturday after Thanksgiving we all go shopping together and take the kids to see Santa but this year we had my cousin's wedding to attend so we'll be doing the Santa visit another day.

The Sunday after Thanksgiving is when we all go to the Xmas tree farm to pick out our trees and then we make Xmas cookies afterwards but this year it was freezing cold out and raining so we just stayed home and made Xmas cookies.

It was a wonderful Thanksgiving!
