Your life is not lying in wait in the future like a wild animal or some ominous destiny. Nor is it hidden in the heavens, like a paradise or promise. Nor is it shut up in the cave or the prison of your past. It is here and now; it is what you live and what you do. At the heart of being; at the heart of the present; at the heart of everything – in the great current of life, of reality.

~Wii Game Night~

We hosted a "Wii Game Night" last weekend and we had a blast!! Nikki was hoping to force herself into labor by playing the games but after five straight hours of play -no luck!! But we all had so much fun. We can't wait to have the next "Wii Game Night".

~Underground Railroad~

We had an awesome field trip last week - "Travelin' the Underground Railroad". Here's the description: "Your student's become passengers on the Underground Railroad. They will get firsthand knowledge of some of the dangers experienced by passengers. Step back in time with a conductor who guides passengers through the woods to the nearest station. Passengers learn the secret codes that will keep them safe on their trip to freedom in Canada. Passengers will make a quilt square that teaches them an escape code."

It was one of the best field trips we've had so far. We did part of the field trip outside walking through the woods which was really fun and we spent time down in a cellar hiding and we, also, hid out in a "barn" and in a "home" hiding, too! They didn't want us take pictures but I got a few.

~New Year's Day~

My parents brought the boys to our cabin on New Year's Day and we took all the kids sledding at that dam. We had so much fun!!! Even my dad was sledding! After sledding, we went back to cabin for hot chocolate to warm up. And for lunch we fried up some Polancic's Tenderloins!! It was an awesome day!!

~New Year's Eve~

We spent New Year's Eve with out favorite family - the Bowald's. We went to dinner and bowling and then headed back to their house to ring in the new year. We had a great time, as always!

~Isle a la Cache Museum~

Our homeschool group took a field trip to the Isle a la Cache Museum - the kids loved it.
