Your life is not lying in wait in the future like a wild animal or some ominous destiny. Nor is it hidden in the heavens, like a paradise or promise. Nor is it shut up in the cave or the prison of your past. It is here and now; it is what you live and what you do. At the heart of being; at the heart of the present; at the heart of everything – in the great current of life, of reality.

~Great Day~

We had science day at homeschool group today and the kids had so much fun. One of the moms gave a lesson on plants and explained how the seeds grow and all that good stuff. She brought in old formula cans for the kids to decorate and then they added dirt and seeds so they could take the cans home and watch their seeds grow. Brenna & Aubree both decided to grow cucumbers which they love!! After planting the seeds the kids played a game and then they played at the park. After homeschool group we came home and the girls spent the rest of the day outside w/ their friends.

After dinner we took the girls to get some new shoes because I discovered today that Aubree has no spring/summer shoes that fit her! Of course, Aubree found shoes within 5 minutes but Brenna is another story! She tried on about 10 pairs at Payless and nothing "felt right" so we moved onto Target where she tried on about 20 more and the last ones she tried worked!

We ended the night by taking the dogs for a walk and now the girls are fast asleep in bed.

It was a great day!!

~Pennies for Peace~

Our Earth Scouts group spent a couple months collecting pennies for the Pennies for Peace organization. The girls had fun collecting their pennies! They found some in the car, in the house and even on the street! Dave took a jug to work and some of the guys gave their pennies so it was nice of them to help the girls out. A couple weeks ago all the kids in the group brought in the pennies they'd collected and we had a total of $176.11!! This money will make it possible for six children in Pakistan or Afghanistan to attend school for one year. Amazing what a penny can do!!!

~Happy Birthday~

My wonderful hubbie turned 35 on the 5th! Unfortunately, he had to teach on his birthday so he didn't get home until 9pm but the girls and I took him out for sushi (his favorite!) the day before his birthday and we had a great time! I have the best husband in the world and I feel so lucky and blessed to have him in my life.
